Mosaic Mural 101 has begun
Oh what fun, our first night in a series of classes was delightful! Setting the color pallet of tiles, shards of tile flying about and laughter....life just doesn't get much better than this!
The bright colors and essence of a cow amongst a field of sunflowers, a wonderful antedote to old man winter...go ahead let it snow.

Mosaic Mural Making 101
Want to learn the art of mosaic muraling? Join me in 4 week class lessons where you will learn the process of mosaic muraling. This class will cover information on mosaics intended for exterior and permanent use. Instructional workshops will include info on bases appropriate for exterior use and their preparation, cutting tile, fixatives, setting, grouting and sealing.
This class is great for the beginner as we will be covering tools, cutting techniques, mosaic design and lay patterns...and is also appropriate for the student who has already experimented with interior or craft mosaics and would like to expand their knowledge to include exterior, garden or permanent installations. Each student will complete at least 2 panels within the mural to be installed.
Sessions will continue until the mural is finished and then we'll have an installation party in the spring of 2011.The finished mural will be 28 ft x 4ft in size and will beautify a Hamilton neighborhood with YOUR work!
Sessions will be on Monday nights, 7-9 pm, at Rizing Son Glass Works studio, 2511 Evergreen Ave, Baltimore, 21214. $100 per 4 week session. Class size limited to 12 per session. All suppllies & tools will be provided.
